6. Final Manhattan Public Hearing on Spectra Pipeline– Thursday Oct 20th Columbia students meet at 6 pm at Broadway gates

7. FeelGood CU screening of “Bonsai People: The Vision of Muhammad Yunus,”Thursday, October 20 at 6pm in Lerner Cinema.

8. Environmental and Sustainable Development Programs Open House. Monday, October 24, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm; Low Memorial Library Rotunda.

9. Food Day 2011 will be held on Monday, October 24th; John Jay will be having their annual local foods meal for lunch on 10/24, from 11am-2pm.

Green Umbrella meets this Monday, October 10th at 9:15 PM in Furnald Lounge. If you want to learn about and enliven environmentalism at Columbia, are thinking about applying for our board (link to application in opportunities), or want to get more involved in campus green stuff and don’t know where to start, please come!

Join the GreenTeam! Saturday 8/29

CALLING ALL ENVIRONMENTAL ENTHUSIASTS!

On Saturday, August 29th, the NYC Parks Department greenteam seeks recycling volunteers to help clean and green Adventures NYC, an outdoor sports expo in Central Park.

Recycling Volunteers will:

* Work in pairs and small teams to collect recyclables throughout the event.
* Teach event visitors about recycling in New York City.
* Administer/participate in the “Recycling Raffle.”

The greenteam is a volunteer corps of New Yorkers pitching in to reduce the ecological footprint of public events in parks.
